Find. Aim. Sink.
About Sea Battle
A classic game of strategy and discovery with original nautical styling by Zarocer. Arrange five ships on a 10×10 grid and search for the opposing fleet one coordinate at a time. Follow up on hits, read the open water and sink every enemy ship before your opponent sinks yours. Includes three AI difficulties, local saved games and a daily challenge with a date-seeded map.
How to play
Choose Cadet, Captain or Admiral, then select Set sail. You can also open the Daily challenge. Keep the starting layout or select a ship and its starting square. Rotate changes its orientation. Select Start battle. Choose a square from A1 to J10 in Enemy waters, then confirm with Fire. Take turns with the computer until one fleet is completely sunk.
Rules in this version
- Each side has a 10×10 grid and ships occupying 5, 4, 3, 3 and 2 squares.
- Ships must be straight, horizontal or vertical. They may touch but cannot overlap.
- The human goes first. Both sides take one shot per turn, including after a hit.
- You cannot repeat a shot or move ships after the battle begins.
- Sink all five opposing ships to win. There are no draws or time limits.
Tips for playing
- After a hit, try neighboring squares to discover the ship’s direction.
- Use alternating squares when searching. Even the smallest ship covers two squares.
- Ships may touch, so do not automatically rule out squares beside a sunk ship.
- Learn the rules with Cadet, then try a more efficient search against Admiral.
Questions about this game
Can I play without downloading anything?
Yes. The game runs in your browser without an account or installation.
Does the game save my progress?
Yes, when local browser storage is available. Choose Continue game when returning in the same browser and on the same domain.
Does the computer know where my ships are?
Its targeting logic uses only previous hits, misses and sunk ships, not hidden ship locations.
How does the daily challenge work?
The map and AI random sequence are seeded by the UTC date. Difficulty is Admiral. Only the first result for each date counts; later attempts are practice.
Is there multiplayer?
No. This version is a single-player game against the computer.
