About Old Maid
Old Maid deals 51 cards among you and three computer opponents after removing the queen of clubs. Equal ranks pair off automatically, leaving one unmatched queen. Draw a hidden card from the next active player and watch your own draw reveal. Adjustable opponent pace, a UTC daily deal and local continuation make the familiar chance game easy to follow.
How to play
Pick a card back from the highlighted opponent hand. A matching rank forms a discarded pair; otherwise the card joins your hand. Empty hands are safe. The final queen holder loses.
Rules in this version
- Remove the queen of clubs and deal the remaining 51 cards among four players.
- Discard rank pairs regardless of suit. Pair removal is automatic.
- Each turn draws one hidden card from the next player still holding cards, skipping empty hands.
- Play ends with one unmatched queen. Its holder loses; there is no traditional point score.
Tips for playing
- A card back’s position does not reveal its rank. Quick and Relaxed pace change waiting time, not luck or opponent intelligence.
- Your own draw feedback shows its rank and whether it paired. Opponent draws do not expose hidden card values.
Questions about this game
Does faster pace make the opponents stronger?
No. It only changes their response time. Their hidden-card choices remain random and do not inspect card identities.
Why do the opponents keep playing after my hand is empty?
You are already safe, but the match continues until one player holds the final queen. Statistics are recorded at that terminal result.
