About Magic Square
Magic Square turns the normal 3×3 Lo Shu square into a short deduction game. Use each number 1–9 once, and make all eight lines total 15. Any valid orientation matching the fixed clues is accepted. Easy supplies five clues, Normal four and Expert two, including the center. Daily play uses three date-selected clues. The underlying classic has eight orientations, so changing clues is not the same as creating unlimited independent puzzles. Read line feedback, clear an entry or use undo to revise a choice. Hint fills a cell only when your current entries fit a valid square. Unfinished games and future undo survive reloading in this browser; new hint-free records are separate from the retained general best.

How to play
Choose a difficulty and Play. Pick an unused number and a free square, or select a square and type 1–9. Aim for 15 across every row, column and main diagonal. Correct a marked conflict with Clear cell or Undo. If no valid square fits your current entries, the hint asks you to revise them rather than silently replacing them.
Rules in this version
- Use every integer from 1 through 9 exactly once.
- Each row, column and both main diagonals totals 15.
- Dark given cells are fixed.
- Win with any valid square that fits those givens. The active timer has no deadline.
Tips for playing
- The center is always 5, so opposite cells along a line through it pair to 10.
- Calculate the missing third number before placing the second one in a line. Reject a choice that needs a duplicate or unavailable value.
Questions about this game
Will another valid arrangement be rejected?
