One stone per turn, two edges to connect. Play three AI difficulties or share the board with a friend.

ABOUT THE GAME

About Hex

Hex turns a field of hexagons into a contest of connected routes. Each turn gives you one stone and a choice: extend your chain, block an opponent, or leave yourself an alternate route. Connect both edges of your color with an unbroken chain to win. Neighboring cells must share an edge, and stones stay where they are placed. Zarocer’s version includes three AI difficulties and a two-player mode on the same device. Choose a 7×7, 9×9 or 11×11 board. The swap rule gives the second player the option to exchange colors and goals after the opening stone, so a strong opening might become your opponent’s advantage. Games are saved in this browser. Hints and undo support practice while a game remains active; either aid excludes the game from a competitive candidate. Restored games also stay local.

How to play

Choose the mode, size and difficulty, then select New game. Coral connects top to bottom; teal connects left to right. Click or tap an empty hexagon to place a stone. The second player may swap sides after the first move. The first connected chain wins; there are no draws. Use a mouse, touch, or arrow keys with Enter/Space. On mobile, enlarge the board with + and scroll it. Escape pauses the game.
