About Island Bridges: Hashi
Island Bridges plays Hashiwokakero, commonly called Hashi. Connect neighboring islands with one or two horizontal or vertical bridges. Every island must receive exactly its printed bridge total, and the whole network must stay connected. This edition has 36 uniquely solvable boards: twelve Easy 5×5 puzzles with seven islands, twelve Medium 7×7 with eleven and twelve Hard 9×9 with fifteen. The UTC daily selection uses the twelve Medium boards. Hints correct one connection, undo and progress are stored locally, and sound is optional. There is no cloud-save adapter.

How to play
Choose a difficulty and New game. Activate a visible connection to cycle through one bridge, two and none. Bridges cannot pass through another island or cross each other. Complete every island’s total and keep the network connected. A hint changes one connection rather than finishing the puzzle for you.
Rules in this version
- Connect nearest islands in the same row or column. Do not skip an intervening island.
- Each pair permits one or two bridges; bridges may not cross.
- An island’s number counts individual bridges, so a double bridge contributes two at each end.
- All islands must form one connected network. Separate groups with correct totals are not a solution.
Tips for playing
- Compare an island’s number with its few available neighbors before guessing.
- Watch for isolated groups: a correct-looking cluster still needs a route to the rest of the board.
Questions about this game
Do double bridges count as two?
Yes. A double bridge contributes two toward each island’s number, although it joins the same pair.
How does the daily selection work?
The UTC date selects a board from the twelve Medium puzzles. Boards can repeat; this mode does not generate a new puzzle every day.
