About Code Breaker

Code Breaker rewards careful comparison: a right symbol can still be in the wrong slot, and symbols may repeat. Enter a sequence and read exact-position and misplaced-symbol feedback without assuming that the feedback order maps to your slots. Three difficulty levels change the alphabet, code length and guess allowance. The remaining-candidates counter and optional suggestion use only clues you have already received. A shared Classic code is selected each UTC day, with a local daily streak and records by difficulty. Unfinished games resume in the same browser; the active timer pauses in menus and away from play.

How to play

Select a guess slot, then a symbol from the palette. Fill every slot and check the guess. Compare the feedback with earlier attempts to find the hidden sequence before your guesses run out.

Rules in this version

Easy: 4 slots, 5 symbols, 12 guesses. Classic: 4 slots, 6 symbols, 10 guesses. Expert: 5 slots, 7 symbols, 10 guesses.
Symbols may repeat.
A turquoise clue means the right symbol in the right position. An amber clue means the right symbol in another position. Clue order does not reveal slot positions.
Each copy of a symbol contributes to feedback at most once.
Match the whole code to win. Running out of guesses or choosing Reveal code counts as a loss.

Tips for playing

Change guesses deliberately so that each result answers a useful question.
Keep repeated symbols in mind when your counts do not fit an all-different code.
A suggested compatible code can still be wrong; use its feedback to narrow the next guess.
