ABOUT THE GAME

About Accordion Solitaire

All 52 cards are visible in this whole-pile edition of Accordion Solitaire. Move a pile onto the one immediately to its left or three places to its left when the exposed cards match in suit or rank. Closing a gap changes the distances for later moves, so a useful match is more than the next available click. Finish with one pile for a perfect win; if no moves remain, your remaining-pile result is recorded instead. Undo history survives a reload. Hints explore several visible-board continuations in a worker, leaving the interface responsive, but cannot certify that a deal is winnable. Choose a new random table or the shared UTC daily deal. Active time, progress and personal results are stored on this device.

How to play

Select a pile, then a highlighted destination one or three piles to its left. Match suit or rank and keep folding until one pile remains or there are no legal moves.

Rules in this version

  • Deal all 52 cards face up in separate piles.
  • A move goes one or three current piles left.
  • Origin and destination top cards must match by suit or rank.
  • Move the entire pile onto the destination, not just its top card.
  • One pile wins. No legal moves ends the attempt.

Tips for playing

  • Count current piles after every gap closes.
  • A move can create a useful new neighbour elsewhere in the row.
  • Compare paths with Undo. A bounded hint is a suggestion rather than a guaranteed winning plan.

Questions about this game

Is this the whole-pile version?

Yes. Every move carries the entire source pile onto a matching destination one or three places left.

Does a hint prove the deal can be won?

No. It searches a bounded number of continuations on the visible board; some deals still end with multiple piles.
